So, within this framework of reason (or unreason, as the case may be), what on earth could be better than an early X-mas? No thing, that's what. Hence EEE's merry-making Christmas In July party on Saturday, July 26th at the historic Hudson Theater in San Bernardino, CA. It's one of those classic Babylonian spectacles that dance music heads live for, with a billion epic surprises and decor details that send your brain reeling and rocking. Doors open at eight PM and close at five AM, so dress to impress (Santa Claus), and practice your "I've been a good boy/girl this year" speech.

From a certain vantage point, it really is quite true that there's no such thing as a bad summer. At worst, the weather's a little too hot and there's a lot of mosquitoes and work sucks, and at best you get a badass tan and cannonball off a high dive into a sparkling pool of bikini babes. Of course the reality is inevitably somewhere between the two, but the tenet that "summer rules" is fairly unbreakable. Especially considering the existence of massive dance extravaganzas like IT Family's second annual Voices From The Underground, which is going down Saturday, August 30th at a sweet TBA LA spot and features the talents of a zillion record spinning wunderkinds. It's eight great hours of the emotional equivalent of the aforementioned babe splash, and so should be seized with insane haste. Viva la vida.

Louder Than Bombs, Better Than Sex

Like the heat and the summer blockbusters, Los Angeles' most brazenly named uber-rave is BACK, this time for its sixth annual installment, and momentum is at a high. Thrown by the pros at Cosmic Events and taking place Saturday, July 12th at a sick TBA spot, Almost Better Than Sex 2008 comes packed with everything you'd expect, and a thousand things you'd want to expect but were too sane to realistically envision a festival pulling off. The performers at this year's nearly-superior-to-intercourse celebration are predictably massive and phenomenal, and any raver worth their glow-bracelet is essentially required to attend. Party rolls for nine hours and is all-ages, so bring the whole scene/family and prepare to rock your erogenous zones to high heaven.

And right now Angelenos are lucky as heck cause they've got two seriously uncut dope parties to set their sights/hang their hopes on, and there's no time like the present to make sure tickets are in your pocket.
